Employers say, “bring your whole self to work,” but isn’t that just putting more pressure on, well, you? Like, isn’t their responsibility to create that space? Thanks for the great intentions, but c’mon. What about what we need to flourish at work?
In order to make workspaces work for everyone, we must hold businesses accountable for celebrating identities and culture in order for people to be unabashedly ourselves at work. February’s meetup centers LGBTQ job seekers’ expectations from businesses. We’ll talk about those tricky power dynamics in the workplace, what being out at work means, and how redesigning equity falls into the responsibility of our employers. It’s gonna get real, friends.
